I’m Not Done with Trump…

James 1:8 – A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

The pundits will tell you it’s over, and the Trump supporters are telling you to get in line. So here’s my response: NO!

This primary isn’t over. In fact, there may be a good hope yet for Ted Cruz. I haven’t seen a single, news media outlet report this key tidbit of information, save the WSJ Opinion Page, but Ted Cruz has won all but one of the closed primary races. The primaries ahead this Saturday are ALL closed primaries. This could bode well for Cruz and bad for Trump, who seems to struggle courting conservatives with his liberal stances (maybe that’s why Fox News is conveniently focusing on March 15th primaries when there are many primaries between now and then). Democrats and Independents won’t be able to help Trump this Saturday, nor here in Ohio (unless those voters are willing to become Republicans – like I’m willing to do to help Cruz).

Trump doesn’t have 1,237 delegates. He barely has a fourth of what he needs to be the nominee (with Cruz right on his heels). We need to stand strong and vote for a better candidate to win this nomination. I won’t tell you who to vote for, but I will urge you – not Trump.

On that line of thinking, I need to share with you what the Lord shared with me in prayer this week. I’ve been seeking the Lord for a Josiah (one of the few good kings of Judah, who led a national reformation back to the law) to be our next president, and as I was doing so, He informed me that Trump is Jehu. Who is Jehu, you ask? Let me explain.

In 1 Kings 19:16, the Lord instructs Elijah to anoint a man named Jehu to be the king of Israel (the Northern Kingdom after Israel split in two). When Elijah anointed him, he prophesied over Jehu saying he would avenge the Lord’s servants by taking down the House of Ahab (a wicked king). Jehu went on to fulfill this prophecy, which was a good thing – but that isn’t the end of the story.

While he did take down Ahab and destroy the Baal worship in Israel, he didn’t follow God’s law and he allowed the worship of the golden calf to continue. He did God’s bidding, but then he went too far down the wrong path.

Trump, like Jehu, claims he will undo the wickedness of Washington. I think he will, but like Jehu, Trump will likely go too far. He already has shown his disregard for the Constitution on issues, such as Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press.

Trump supporters want him to burn it all down (figuratively), but the danger with fire is it can get out of hand. What’s going to stop the fire from burning us in the process? Or if the controlled-burn goes successfully, is Trump a constitutionalist that we can trust to raise the right government from the ashes? I think not.

So if you’re a registered voter in Ohio, I encourage you, pick a candidate and support them – not just in word, but in deed – it is too critical to sit down and let others decide the fate of our nation. All I’ve heard this week is ‘will you vote for Trump in a general election? If not, you’re wasting your vote or you’re voting for Hillary.’ I pray we don’t get to that point. Forget what letter is behind your name, that doesn’t matter – saving our country does! So registered voters, let’s get out there and do our civic duty, but please, for me, don’t vote Trump.

25 Reasons I Cannot Support Donald Trump

Matthew 7:15 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Forget the sheep’s clothing, this wolf is strutting around in all his wolfy-badness, and no one seems to notice he’s going to blow the house down if he gets the nomination.

Here are 25 reasons – in no particular order – I can never support Donald Trump (with references for those of you who doubt my research on the issue):

  1. He never reveals true policy stances.
  2. He recently flip-flopped on abortion (even supporting partial birth abortion in the past).
  3. He doesn’t understand what the nuclear triad is or its importance.
  4. He made fun of a reporter with disabilities.
  5. He claims he will force another sovereign nation to build a wall along the border despite the other nation’s firm stance that they will not.
  6. He doesn’t know the players in current trade agreements, like the TPP.

  7. He flip-flopped on ISIS (Let Russia handle it to carpet bombing).
  8. He said he would appoint his pro-abortion sister to the supreme court.
  9. He promotes managing the government over shrinking the government.
  10. Uses vulgarity in public discourse (The presidency is an honorable position and should not be reduced to filth)
    • Repeated offender – too many citations for one point
  11. Encouraged supporters to rough up protesters at a Trump rally, saying he’d pay the legal fees
  12. Told security to keep protesters coats when evicting them from a Trump rally
  13. He said the people of Iowa were stupid because he dropped in the polls to Cruz.
  14. He likened the highly respected Dr. Ben Carson to a pedophile.
  15. He said he can “change” to anything he wants to be.
  16. He wants to reinstitute waterboarding despite the fact it’s been outlawed.
  17. He asserted John McCain wasn’t a hero due to being a P.O.W.
  18. He said if Ivanka wasn’t his daughter he’d probably be dating her.
  19. He couldn’t name a single Bible verse when asked for his favorite and mispronounced 2 Corinthians while at Liberty University.
  20. He can’t control his temper.

  21. He wanted to use eminent domain for private use and still supports it today.
  22. He threatens non-supporters.
  23. He continues to flip-flop on healthcare (recently stating support of universal healthcare – like Bernie).
  24. He supported a wealth tax on saved wealth in bank accounts.
  25. He said he would remain neutral on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Bonus: ‘I could murder someone and my supporters won’t leave me.’

And as if this list wasn’t enough, yesterday, his supporters finished me off. While watching a show, I tweeted to the hosts that I would never switch my allegiance to Donald Trump, bringing the onslaught of the ‘Trumpkins.’ From that innocent tweet I was told, ‘I’m not a true patriot,’ ‘my soul is lost,’ and ‘I’m part of the problem with this country.’

Their fearless leader has belittled free speech in the past (http://thelibertarianrepublic.com/trump-close-up-the-internet/), so it’s no wonder the Trumpkins hound anyone with an opposing position.

This is not an exhaustive list by any means. I could add his statements that ‘Planned Parenthood does good things’ or his insinuation that George W. Bush was at fault for 9/11 during the last debate, but I’d be here all day if I listed every statement Trump makes or actions he takes that I disagree with or find questionable.

So in conclusion, if you are infatuated with Donald Trump, please consider these truths and the principles you stand for before casting a vote for him at the ballot box. I don’t know about you, but the man stands contrary to the vast majority of my morals, beliefs, and ideologies, and I can never vote for him.

P.S. Don’t give me that argument about he’s better than Bernie/Hillary because newsflash, we still have better options available to us, let’s choose one.
